Allen-Bradley motion control
A modern Allen-Bradley motion system has four parts:
- Logix controller (CompactLogix 5069-L3 or ControlLogix 1756-L8) running the Motion task.
- Kinetix drive (5300/5500/5700) connected via EtherNet/IP CIP Motion.
- Servo motor (VPL / MPL / TL) wired with 2090 series cables (power + feedback).
- Studio 5000 Logix Designer to configure axes, cams, and gearing.
CIP Motion gives you deterministic 1 ms updates over standard Ethernet β no separate motion bus. Add EtherNet/IP devices (HMIs, drives, I/O) to the same network without breaking timing.
